I used to block out four hours every Sunday to transcribe interviews for show notes. Now I upload the episode, grab coffee, and it's done before the mug's empty. That's roughly 16 hours a month I spend actually making the show instead.

I was paying a transcriptionist about $90 per episode. Weekly show, so you do the math. Switched over and my whole month now costs less than two of those old invoices. Accuracy's close enough that I only fix names and the occasional brand term.

A viewer messaged me saying she's hard of hearing and my old auto-captions were unwatchable. Fixed that in an afternoon. Now every upload ships with clean captions and I stopped getting those complaints entirely.

This is the part that quietly changed my job. A source referenced something from a call I did in 2024 and I found the exact sentence in about ten seconds. Every interview I've ever recorded is now text I can dig through.

Our newsroom was spending close to $600 a month on human transcription. We kept the human option for sensitive court stuff and moved everything else over. Bill's down around 70% and nobody's complained about the drafts.

We'd finish a focus group on Thursday and not have workable transcripts until the following week. Now they're ready by end of day and the team starts pulling themes while it's still fresh. Client deliverables went out three days earlier last round.

I collect oral histories from older Portuguese and Ukrainian speakers. Getting accurate transcripts in those languages used to be genuinely hard and expensive. Now it's part of the same workflow, and I can attach a translation for the archive.

As a solo attorney my time is the product. I used to summarize client calls from memory or re-listen to recordings. Now I have the full transcript and pull what I need in minutes. That's time I bill instead of burn.

I stopped assigning someone to take minutes. The transcript plus summary lands in our channel and the owners are tagged with what they committed to. Fewer "I thought you were handling that" moments, which alone was worth it.

My reps were spending the last ten minutes of every day catching up their CRM from memory. Now the call transcript and key points flow in automatically. That's real selling time back across a team of six.

We localized our product videos into German, French, and Portuguese without hiring a translation vendor for each. Two quarters later those regions are a real slice of our pipeline. Same content, new revenue, and we didn't grow the marketing headcount.

Adding captions and translated subtitles to our course library was the single biggest thing for enrollment abroad. Students in non-English-speaking countries stopped bouncing. Roughly a third of new sign-ups now come from outside our home market.

Our agency processes a stupid volume of client footage. The old manual captioning pipeline was where projects went to die. This cleared it. We're turning subtitle jobs around in hours and took on two more retainer clients because we had the capacity.

The thing I didn't expect was how much content one episode holds once it's text. I pull three or four quote cards, a newsletter blurb, and a couple of Reels captions from a single transcript without rewatching anything. My posting went from twice a week to almost daily.

Half my YouTube audience turned out to be in Latin America once I started subtitling. I add English and Spanish captions to every video now and the Spanish versions pull nearly the same views as the originals. Wish I'd started a year earlier.

Forty-minute phone interview, thirty minutes to file. Not long ago that meant scrubbing audio and typing quotes in a panic. I dropped the recording in, searched for the two lines I needed, and had them pasted into the story with five minutes to spare.

I cover immigration and a lot of my interviews aren't in English. Being able to transcribe and translate them in the same place means I'm not waiting three days on an outside service anymore. Cut a real bottleneck out of my reporting.

LH

I run qualitative studies, so every interview has to become a transcript before I can even start analysis. What used to eat two full weeks of a project now takes a couple of days. The speaker labels are accurate enough that I trust them for attribution.

My stipend does not stretch to professional transcription for 40 interviews. This does the whole dissertation dataset for less than what one service quoted me for five files. It's not flawless on mumbled audio, but the editor makes cleanup quick.

We were outsourcing deposition transcripts and the invoices added up fast across a caseload. Bringing the routine ones in-house cut that spend by more than half. For anything going before a judge we still get it human-verified, but the day-to-day is handled.

Between appointments I was drowning in documentation. Dictating and getting a clean transcript back means my notes are wrapped before the next patient's in the room. I'm leaving the clinic on time again.

As a UX researcher I run maybe eight user interviews per study. Getting them all into searchable text same-day means I'm tagging quotes and building the report while the interviews are still going. Shaved about a week off my last project.

I'm a VA and I added meeting-notes-as-a-service for my clients on top of this. Costs me a flat monthly fee, I charge per client, and the margin funds most of my other tools. Didn't expect a transcription tool to become a line of revenue.

Hiring across a dozen candidates, my notes used to be a mess of scribbles. Now every interview is transcribed the same way and I can line up answers side by side. Made our debrief meetings shorter and the decisions less gut-feel.

We're a small nonprofit and captioning our public webinars always got cut from the budget. This brought the cost down to something we could actually sustain. Now everything we publish is accessible, which is the whole point of what we do.

Yes — the Starter plan is completely free and always will be. You get 90 minutes of transcription when you sign up and 30 fresh minutes every month after that, at no cost. No credit card is required to sign up or to use the free plan.
For clean, single-speaker audio, accuracy reaches up to 99.8%. Accuracy depends on audio quality, background noise, and number of speakers. Strong accents, heavy background noise, or low-quality recordings may reduce accuracy. You can always edit the transcript directly in our editor.
Your files are encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Only you (and team members you explicitly invite) can access your transcripts. We do not use your audio or transcript data to train AI models. Files are automatically deleted after your plan's storage period expires.
BlaBlaScribe supports transcription in 120+ languages, including English, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Italian, Polish, Russian, Chinese, Japanese, Arabic, and many more. Translation is available into 50+ languages.
Files can be up to 2 GB and up to 5 hours per upload on all paid plans. The same file limits apply on the free Starter plan — what limits you there is your minute balance (90 minutes to start, then 30 every month), so a single hour-long recording fits. For longer projects, split your file into parts or contact us about bulk processing options.
Yes, you can cancel at any time with no penalties. Your plan remains active until the end of the current billing period, after which you'll revert to the free Starter plan. Your existing transcripts remain accessible according to your plan's storage policy.
