One source SRT became six market-ready files with timing untouched. Our agency quoted two weeks for the same job.

What Changes When English Becomes Czech
Three things worth knowing before you ship Czech captions.
Czech has no articles, but each noun, adjective and pronoun changes ending according to its role in the sentence. Word-by-word translation produces text where endings do not agree — grammatically wrong in a way that is obvious to every native reader, even when the vocabulary is right. Sentences have to be translated as units.
The háček and the acute accent distinguish different words: byt is a flat, being is být. Stripping diacritics, which older subtitle workflows sometimes did to avoid encoding problems, turns readable Czech into a puzzle. UTF-8 export keeps č, ě, š, ř, ž, ý and the rest intact.
Formal vykání suits interviews, instruction and anything addressing viewers directly; informal tykání suits friends and casual content. Czech makes the choice visible in every verb, so it cannot be avoided — and switching mid-video reads as an error rather than a stylistic shift.
One English cue, translated into Czech
Czech often comes out shorter, because one verb form replaces several English words.
- 00:00:01,900 → 00:00:04,500
English: Click here to download the subtitles.
Czech: Kliknutím sem stáhnete titulky.
- 00:00:04,900 → 00:00:06,300
English: The video is ready.
Czech: Video je připravené.
The first line drops from 37 to 31 characters. The second contains ř, a letter that exists only in Czech and has to survive export unchanged.
English → Czech, Done Right
Czech captions with every háček in place and the English timing kept.
Agreement across the sentence
Case endings match instead of being carried over from English word order.
Diacritics preserved
č, ě, š, ř and ž survive export in both SRT and VTT.
Cues keep their English timing
Czech lines inherit the start and end time of each English cue, so nothing has to be re-synced.
Declined names checked in context
Each Czech line sits next to its English original, so a name in the wrong case is easy to spot before export.

Uploaded a two-hour recording during lunch — the transcript was waiting before I finished my coffee. The accuracy genuinely surprised me.
Our legal team approved it because processing stays on EU infrastructure. That alone ruled out most of the competition.
Seeing source and translation together makes QA fast. We ship subtitles the same day we cut the video.
No card, no tricks — I tested real files before paying and upgraded a week later because the workflow stuck.
Had trouble with a huge file — support walked me through batch upload the same morning. Rare these days.
