A six-person panel discussion, and it kept every voice straight. I stopped double-checking after the third transcript.

What Makes Turkish Hard to Transcribe
Turkish builds words by stacking suffixes: ev, evler, evlerimiz, evlerimizden, “from our houses”. Person, tense, negation and possession all sit at the end, so one misheard syllable changes who did what. Vowel harmony helps, because -ler/-lar and -den/-dan follow the vowels of the root, but endings are still the first thing to check. Long words also fill a subtitle line quickly, and they cannot be split.
Dotted i/İ and dotless ı/I are separate letters: sınır is a border, sinir is a nerve. The transcript is written in the full Turkish alphabet, with ç, ğ, ö, ş and ü. The trap comes later: many programs uppercase i as I and lowercase I as i, which turns İstanbul into ISTANBUL and makes search miss words. When you change case in a spreadsheet or in code, use Turkish locale rules.
Turkish word order is subject, object, verb, and negation lives inside the verb: geliyor is “is coming”, gelmiyor is “isn’t coming”. A subtitle cut before the final word leaves the viewer without the action and without knowing whether it happened at all. Good Turkish subtitles break between phrases and keep the verb with its object. With text and audio side by side in the editor, moving a break takes seconds.
What a Clean Turkish Transcript Looks Like
Three lines from a meeting recording, and what to look at in each.
- Speaker 1
Toplantıya katılamayacağımızı dün akşam bildirdik.
The verb packs ability, negation, future and “we” into one word. If a single suffix is misheard, the meaning flips, so long verbs like this are worth a second look.
- Speaker 2
İzmir’deki ışıklı tabelayı henüz değiştirmedik.
Dotted and dotless i and the soft g in one line. The soft g is barely audible, so its spelling comes from knowing the word. Note the apostrophe before the suffix on the place name.
- Speaker 1
Geçen yıl satışlar %12,5 arttı.
The percentage is spoken in full. In written Turkish the per cent sign goes before the number and decimals take a comma; check figures before the text goes into a report.
How to Transcribe Turkish Audio
From a Turkish recording or MP3 to editable text in three steps.
Add an MP3, WAV, M4A, MP4, MOV or another common format, or paste a YouTube or Vimeo link.
Auto-detection samples speech from several points in the file. Select Turkish yourself if the recording starts with music, an English intro or a long stretch in another language.
Check verb suffixes, names and İ/ı in the editor, then export SRT, VTT, ASS, TXT, DOCX, PDF, CSV, XLSX or JSON.

Other tools gave me a lowercase stream of words. Here sentences actually read like sentences — barely any cleanup.
No card, no tricks — I tested real files before paying and upgraded a week later because the workflow stuck.
Had trouble with a huge file — support walked me through batch upload the same morning. Rare these days.
Field interviews go in as MP3s and come out as clean DOCX with timestamps. My write-up time dropped by half.
Uploaded a two-hour recording during lunch — the transcript was waiting before I finished my coffee. The accuracy genuinely surprised me.
Our legal team approved it because processing stays on EU infrastructure. That alone ruled out most of the competition.
